Week 5 Waiver Wire - Add, Watch or Avoid

QB

Add - Brian Hoyer – In two games he has almost 600 yards and 5 TD’s and faces the Bills this week who sport an injured secondary. Ride him for the next 3 weeks because after the Bills he gets potential shootouts with Detroit and Green Bay. Then…. Sell high because he then faces KC and Baltimore before his bye.

Avoid - Ryan Fitzpatrick – The Good - Fitzpatrick has good receivers, and a serviceable running game. He can be a good QB2 and stop gap fill if you have been rolling with Big Ben. The Bad - he faces KC this week followed by Seattle and San Fran before his bye.

Watch - (Add) Eli Manning faces the Eagles this week and he may have been dropped in your league with the emergence of Rivers and Pryor.

RB

Add – Rashad Jennings – He’s the last man standing and will be an RB2 this week based on touches and carries needed of him as Reece and McFadden are surely out this week. Hopefully getting Pryor back this week will help both in standard and ppr for Jennings.

Add – Danny Woodhead – An every week RB2 in ppr now. He’s getting double digit touches and 80 yards a game since surpassing Ronnie Brown in week 1 and Mathews has done nothing with his opportunities.

Avoid (but Watch)– Roy Helu – despite leaving with a rib injury in week 4 Alfred Morris did not sustain any fractures and with the bye week this week he should return recovered in week 6.

Watch – Andre Ellington, Mike Goodson and Jonathan Stewart

WR

Add – Alshon Jeffery – Alshon got 11 targets in week 4 for 5 catches 107 yards and a TD. He also managed a 27 yard rush.  With his upcoming schedule of Saints, Giants and Redskins he a must start WR3/Flex and serviceable WR2 in certain bye week situations.

Add - Nate Washington – Last weeks flier coming off 10 targets 8 catches for 131 yards in week 3 followed that up in week 4 with 8 targets 4 catches 105 yards and 2 TDs! He is now only a good flex option considering his upcoming schedule but Fitzpatrick should offer more stability.

Avoid – Jericho Cotchery – Cotchery notched 5 catches for 103 yards and a TD against the Vikings but with a week 5 bye and the Steelers to feature Bell out of the break, Cotchery remains just the #4 option in the passing game behind Brown, Sanders and Miller.

Watch – Terrance Williams – If Miles Austin doesn’t make it back for the shootout with Denver then Williams, who caught 7 of 8 targets for 71 yards in week 4 is certainly flex worthy and a WR2/3 in ppr.

TE

Add – Dallas Clark – He faces the Dolphins this week and they allow the most fantasy points to TE’s.
