Jonathan Stewart is still practicing

Coach Ron Rivera said on Monday that “we took a few shots at him. He took a few bumps, hit the ground a couple of times but he popped up and kept going. That’s good.” Jonathan Stewart said “my run motion coming out the gate, making cuts, all that stuff, is as fluid as I’ve been in a while, which is good,” and that “I don’t have to second-guess anything.” This morning (Tuesday) the Carolina Panthers twitter feed noted that he’s ‘running great in practice’ and ‘looks fast as ever.’

Stewart returned to his first training camp action on Sunday and has practiced three consecutive days without rest or a setback. If this progress continues, he’s expected to see his first game action this Sunday night. When healthy Jonathan Stewart is the best of the three Carolina running backs and does offer some upside in PPR formats. Stewart even participated in goal line drills yesterday. He’s worthy of a late round flier.
