Week 14 Waiver Wire and Flier's

Week 14 Waiver Wire

QB: Dan Orlovsky – Last week’s flier recommendation threw for 353 yards 2 TD’s and only 1 INT. Now most of this came in garbage time against the worst pass defense in the league, but what is interesting was his completion rate: 30 of 37. He was also able to feed 5 or more receptions to 4 players. Tough schedule ahead, but has 3 good wide outs and a serviceable tight end.

RB: Ryan Grant – Starks is likely out this week and maybe more considering the Packers may choose to rest and ease back their best running back for the playoffs. This week Grant will face Oakland’s 28th run defense, making him a decent RB3 or flex play based mostly on GB’s offense and the Oakland matchup because Grant’s skills are not enough to overcome a tough run defense. With that said next week is KC and their 25th ranked run defense. Grab him.

RB: Marion Barber – With Forte out 2-6 weeks Barber and Bell will likely split carries thus limiting them both in this offense. If you’re desperate, go with Barber because of his goal line work; but Barber’s only value is to the owner of Forte who has a roster spot to fill. He’s hardly an RB3, but worth a roster spot based on opportunity.

WR: Jabar Gaffney – With Fred Davis likely out for the remainder of the season due to suspension, there are additional targets to be had and Gaffney is sure to benefit. With Helu establishing some respect in the running game, the passing game should begin to open up. Santana Moss is the deep threat and Gaffney should be the chain mover / over the middle guy for Grossman now that Davis is gone. Gaffney could be a WR3 in PPR and worth a start in deeper leagues; especially in Week 14 against New England.

WR: Demaryius Thomas – Starting WR Eddie Royal suffered a concussion in week 13 and that may keep him out in week 14. Now, I didn’t even trust Decker in this offense, so I can’t say this is a must add, but considering Thomas’s size he could become a goal line threat for a Tebow jump pass. The only plus is a week 15 matchup with New England. Deeper leagues take notice and consider line up decisions in week 15, but doubt you’re wanting to put your playoff life in the hands of a Denver WR outside of Decker.

TE: Jacob Tamme – Week 11’s waiver wire n flier is back again. Orlovsky kept Tamme involved with 5 catches on 6 targets for 49 yards. Indy has a tough upcoming schedule but 2 of next 3 games are at home. Fred Davis owners, look no further!

Week 14 Flier’s

WR: Andre Roberts – In Kevin Kolb’s first game back Andre Roberts caught all 6 of his targets for 111 yards. While you can’t expect this production every week, he should be on your radar as defenses tend to focus and double Fitzgerald. This week Arizona hosts San Fran who is very tough against the run, even if they don’t have Patrick Willis this week; so Arizona may have to throw to move the ball.

RB: Isaac Redman – In week 13 Redman ran hard and deliberate averaging 6.4 yards per carry for 51 yards. This week the Steelers host Cleveland on a short week, there figures to be a good bit of garbage time carries for Redman. Also if Steelers clinch early, Mendenhall may be rested and Redman could be quite serviceable in the last couple weeks.
