HOT
QB
Matt Schaub – Fresh off a 4 TD effort on the road in Denver,
Schaub comes home to face the Titans whom through 3 weeks have given up the
most fantasy points to QB’s.
Honorable mentions: Christian
Ponder and Josh Freeman
RB
Cedric Benson – In a potential shootout with New Orleans,
Green Bay figures to come out slinging the ball all over. But as they learned
last week in Seattle, they move the ball better with balance. Benson has 17 and 20 carries in his last two
games and 4 receptions in each of those two.
New Orleans is allowing the most fantasy points to running backs after
the first 3 weeks so Benson is a strong flex play.
Honorable mention: Ben
Tate
WR
Vincent Jackson – Jackson came back down to earth in a hard
way last week against the Cowboys after
his monstrous week 2 game against the Giants. The Giants secondary is very
porous and VJax faces another porous secondary this week in the Washington
Redskins. The Redskins allow the most fantasy point to WR’s, second most yards
and tied for the most receiving TD’s against WR’s.
Honorable mention: Brandon
Lloyd
TE
Brandon Myers – Myers suffered a concussion last week, but
he has been cleared to resume practice. Through 3 weeks Myers has 15 receptions
and 206 yards. Most appealing about Myers is that he has 15 targets and has
caught every single one of them. Palmer knows
this and has to figure to trust him now. With Darrius Heyward-Bey likely to
miss this week Myers becomes a legit target for Palmer up against the Denver
Broncos who allow the 4th most fantasy points to TE’s.
Honorable mentions: Owen
Daniels
NOT
QB
Tony Romo – Since his
big week 1 game, Romo has been very… for a lack of a better word – pedestrian. He’s only thrown for 1 TD in his last two
games, an interception in all three and two fumbles last week. This week he
faces the Chicago Bears who are allowing the fewest points to QB’s over the
first three weeks.
Caution – Cam Newton
RB
Steven Jackson – Per @Ryan_Boser, Steven Jackson has scored
one touchdown in his last 259 touches. This week he faces the Seahawks,
allowing the 5th fewest fantasy points to RB’s. He’s becoming a
matchup play for RB2 production or flex start against defenses in the top 10.
Caution – DeMarco Murray
WR
Brandon Marshall – Cutler and his O-line have not done well
so far this season and facing DeMarcus Ware and the new and improved back end
of the Dallas Cowboys defense, Cutler will struggle to find the time to hit
Marshall consistently. Marshall has the talent to go up and get one of Cutler’s
infamous ‘fling-its’ but Dallas is allowing the fewest points to WR’s through
three weeks so Marshall figures to struggle.
Caution – Julio Jones and Roddy White – Carolina is holding
WR’s to the second fewest fantasy points through three weeks and they have
faced Drew Brees and Eli Manning. Teams are choosing to run on the Panthers
Defense.
TE
Jermichael Finley – After 3 weeks Finley only has 133 yards
equating to a 44.3 average and he hasn’t scored in his last two games. This
week he faces the Saints who give up the fewest fantasy points to TE’s and
Finley may get lost in the offense with Rodgers, Jennings and Nelson looking to
get back on track and Benson taking advantage of his matchup as well.
